So, Jacob turned two on Saturday. I can't believe it! It doesn't seem like he should be this age yet. We had a small family get together for him yesterday. It was so fun watching him open his presents. He seemed a little overwhelmed by all the fun things hiding in the wrapping paper.

That is Jacobs word for cooking. It's so cute. He sat by me on the chair watching Food Network and when I would ask him what they were doing, he would say "Cuckoo!!" Then, when they would show a stove or something steaming, he'd say "Hot!!" After awhile of that, he actually asked to take a bath!! I'm so glad he likes bathtime!

Jacobs Certificate of Citizenship came today! I was very surprised to see it after hearing that it usually takes a year to get. We sent our paperwork out on May 12. So really, it didn't take long at all. And I am really glad that we didn't have to go to Detroit. When I was getting the paperwork ready to send out, there were a few things that I wasn't sure if I needed to send. I sent them anyway.

One year ago today, we visited Enat Alem orphanage as a couple and left as a forever family! The last year has flown by! It seems like just yesterday it felt like a referral would never come and now, the three of us have been together for a year. Our family is so blessed!

Today was a sad day for us. We had to have one of our cats put down. She was only 5 years old. We thought she would be Jacobs cat. Unfortunately she was very sick. We will miss you Leela.

I thought I better make a post seeing it has been over a month since my last. I am not so good at keeping this up. It's official. Jacob can walk! He has been able to walk along furniture and with our assistance for awhile, but now he is doing it on his own! At first he only did it with prompting from us but now he does it a lot! It's so cute watching him learn and become more confident every time

As you can see from this picture, Jacob really needed a haircut. Even putting product in his hair did not do much to tame those "fly aways".He started off doing pretty good. We thought he wasn't going to mind.But, he did. Jacob had his first haircut on Sunday. My sister, who cut his hair said that ti was a trim seeing as we only cut hair off in one spot. But I still say it was a haircut. He actually did really well. Jacob said his first word last week!!! It was mama!! I was so excited. And yesterday he started saying dada! Before we know it, he is going to be speaking full sentences. It's been awhile since I've posted. I thought I better get in a quick update. We are all doing well here. Jacob is adjusting very well. He is eating baby food along with his formula now. Actually, it's kind of hit and miss with it. Some days he eats and eats and other days, he only wants a few bites. Either way, he's getting enough because he is growing like a weed. He is around 20 pounds already

Things are going really well now that Jacob is over his pneumonia. He is such a happy, content baby. We are working on eating cereal and sweet potatoes. He doesn't seem to really like the idea of eating off a spoon. The first time we tried, he would open his mouth for the spoon. Now he closes it. Oh well, eventually he will catch on. Oh what fun!!! We just got back from the health department after getting our travel vaccinations. We each had 7. 4 in one arm and 3 in the other. Well, I had my first shower today!! My mom and sister put it on and My aunts and cousins from my dads family were there as well as a friend of my moms and a friend of my sisters. Man, I don't think the paperwork will ever end!!!! I just got all of our tax returns and w-2's together. Thank goodness I could download them again. I still have 1 w-2 to find.
